Chattogram-10 constituency lawmaker Sayeed Al Noman has called on BNP leaders and activists to thwart wrongdoing and work by upholding the party’s ideals and political philosophy. He said party workers must keep their intentions clear and stand by the people through their conduct and actions. He said this is how they can strengthen the hands of party leader Tarique Rahman.
He made the remarks while speaking at a rally held ahead of a colorful procession organized by the Chattogram Metropolitan BNP at the city’s Old Railway Station on Tuesday (September 1) afternoon, marking the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
Recalling the BNP’s founding anniversary rally held on September 1, 2023, Sayeed Al Noman said his late father, Abdullah Al Noman, had been the chief guest at that event. He had also been present at the program. Recalling the memories of that day, he said September 1 is particularly significant for him.
Addressing party leaders and activists, Sayeed Al Noman said, “Those among our workers who are good, whose intentions are clear and who are honest, are not doing well. To strengthen the hands of our leader Tarique Rahman, we must keep our intentions sincere and clean.”
He said party leaders and activists must help and support people through their behavior and actions. At the same time, they must work with the determination to prevent all kinds of wrongdoing in society. He said Tarique Rahman’s hands would be strengthened if they moved forward by upholding the party’s political thinking, ideals and philosophy.
Highlighting the political philosophy of BNP founder and late President Ziaur Rahman, Sayeed Al Noman said Ziaur Rahman did not merely establish the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to organize Bangladesh; he also formulated principles and ideals for the party.
Sayeed Al Noman said, “Leaders and statesmen of this kind are rare throughout the world. We need to think about how our party will uphold and carry forward his ideas.”
He said party leaders and activists must work by embracing the thoughts and ideals of late President Ziaur Rahman. He also stressed the importance of following the principles and ideals of the party in political activities.
Calling on party workers to work to fulfill the expectations of the people over the next four years, Sayeed Al Noman said the BNP must pursue politics aimed at fulfilling the expectations of the country’s 180 million people.
He said, “Over the next four years, inshaAllah, we will be able to succeed by pursuing politics that fulfills what the people, the 180 million citizens of the country, expect from us.”
Sayeed Al Noman expressed hope that BNP leaders and activists in Chattogram would continue to play a responsible role for the party under the leadership of Tarique Rahman in the days ahead. He said Chattogram would once again fulfill the responsibility entrusted to it by Tarique Rahman.
